Troy Old Timers' Day begins with breakfast, music, and other activities. It continues with the parade, followed by buffalo burgers, other great food, cold beverages, more music, more games, vintage cars, and the revamped Troy city park playground.

Troy Old Timers' Day Featured Events for 2009

 

  • Kids and families will find way too much to do. Take a look at the schedule, and check out all the attractions for kids and grown-ups. The new city park playground will be open for business, come out and play!
  • Breakfast in the park. Start off your day as early as 6:00 am. The Troy Lions Club will serve
    all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage! Proceeds support Lions projects.

     
  • Visit the Troy Historical Society veterans photo and historical display before, during, and after the parade at the Troy Lions Community Center. The display features photographs of Troy-area residents, teachers, graduates, and veterans from WWI to the present. A century of learning in a journey through Troy's past.

     
  • Bring your FM radio and listen to parade commentary and announcements on local Troy FM 87.9. Troy's own Dave McGraw will be on the microphone!

     
  • Bring your wireless-enabled laptop computers and PDA's. Try the free high-speed wireless Internet access downtown using the Troy Lions Club Hot Zone. This public service is sponsored by the Troy Lions Club, Troy Television Cable Inc., and Technology Services LLC.

     
  • Lunch in the park begins at 11:00 am, featuring legendary Troy Lions Club buffalo burgers and other menu items. Served by (who else) the Troy Lions Club. Proceeds go toward Lions programs.
     
  • Live music featuring local musicians starts at breakfast, breaks for the parade, and continues through lunch. Quality sound provided by Troy schools' music department. Thanks, Mark!

11:00 am Volleyball tournament. Think you have what it takes? Try the grass doubles tournament sponsored by the Troy High School volleyball team. 9:00 am The Sweet Adelines. Fine vocal harmony from a talented group of ladies. Candy for the ears!
10:00 am Parade. Be downtown, listen to parade announcements on local Troy FM 87.9.
11:00 am Hog Heaven Big Band. Joining us again for Troy Old Timers' Day. Don't dare miss this excellent ensemble...helping the Palouse dance since 1976!
12:45 pm Dos Coyotes-Mark Maland and Chris Peterson. Acoustic? Industrial? Country? All three? Talented songwriting, singing, and playing with a homegrown flair.
2:00 pm Two Old Guys with Brass. A little bit older, and brassier than ever! These gentlemen will amaze you with their humor, musical acumen, and plain old warmth.
